I bought this to connect 3″ flex backing plate which has 5/8-11 threads to connect it to my makita 9237c polisher which has m14 thread and it does exactly that.. although the male thread length on this adapter is a little longer than the depth of flex backing plate so the adapter tight full before all the threads are in, you can still see a little thread of adapter but thats just a thing of look. It fits correct and work correct as intended to do.
